Orphan Care “Cambiando Horizontes”

Preparing and accompanying vulnerable children, teenagers, and youth as they leave orphan care; mobilizing local churches; and strenghtening vulnerable families.

Since 2020 Cambiando Horizontes (Changing Horizons) has followed God’s command to care for vulnerable children in the city of Trujillo. Our God is a father of the fatherless and a defender of widows (Ps. 68:5) and has called his people to join him in this task (Isa. 1:16). Cambiando Horizontes responds to that call by preparing and accompanying teenagers and youth in their transition out of orphanages by giving them training, tools, housing, and options for study and work. We also work with local orphanages and families to reunite children and teenagers with their families of origin when possible. Ninety percent of the children at orphanages in Peru still have a family and only need extra help to be reunited with them. We also provide virtual training workshops for orphanage staffs throughout Peru, focusing on improving care and best practices. Finally, Cambiando Horizontes mobilizes local churches to care for the vulnerable through biblical teaching and provides volunteer and foster care opportunities.
